Yes, we do. Wi-Fi is available in the lodge and the main office, as well as the cabins, the cottage and house. Cell phone coverage is available at the lodge and, in other locations, it depends on your carrier. However, while we understand the need to stay connected, we also want to support your efforts to unplug, unwind and connect with yourself and nature. Prepare for a little digital detox during your visit, knowing that our staff will help you in every way possible.
In keeping with our desire to support guests in their quest to connect with the natural world, there are no televisions in the cabins, or the cottage. However, the television in the lodge is available for your viewing entertainment, and guests staying in house will have access to a television in the living room.
We recommend that you check the weather forecast the week before your visit, as Texas Hill Country weather can be a bit unpredictable. We enjoy a mild Mediterranean climate, with Spring and Fall being the most popular times to visit. Generally speaking, the summers are hot and muggy; the winters are short, cold, and windy; and it is partly cloudy year-round. Over the course of the year, the temperature typically varies from 42°F to 95°F and it is rarely below 30°F or above 100°F. Please dress accordingly!
There is no need to bring any linens or towels with you; we provide everything you need.
We provide a big country breakfast, which is included in the price of your room. We do not provide lunch or dinner, but the downtown Bandera area is a short 10-minute drive. There you will find a nice selection of restaurants and a grocery store. Every room has a mini fridge where you can store perishable items for your stay. You are also free to bring food to grill and there is a microwave in the centrally-located lodge for your convenience.
You may bring firewood if you like, but please do not start a fire for any purpose without discussing it with the staff first.
The ranch is, well, a ranch! So please bring your favorite bug repellent, sunscreen and hat. If you forget, these items are easy to find in the local downtown area.
Yes, we have a swimming pool and lounge area—and we encourage our guests to enjoy it, weather permitting—so please pack your bathing suit. There is no lifeguard on duty, however, so please swim and play responsibly.
After you review the weather forecast prior to your visit, pack accordingly, based on your personal preferences. If you plan on going horseback riding, please bring a pair of pants and closed-toe shoes. You may also want to bring hiking boots or athletic shoes for exploring our 227 acres.
There are many wonderful, fun activities for the entire family to enjoy here at the CRC and nearby area, including river rafting, wine tasting, mountain biking and horseback riding. We do recommend that you book your experience beforehand, just in case. Let us know how we can help.
We are devoted to the health and well-being of all our guests, our staff, and the unique and beautiful hill country environment of the ranch. While your health and safety are always of utmost importance to us, due to the current Covid-19 environment, we want you to know that we are committed to taking all necessary steps to protect our guests from this virus. We follow all state-mandated rules related to the current pandemic and book rooms to ensure the observance of social distancing.
